CAT, Combat Auto Theft Program

The Combat Auto Theft (CAT) program is a voluntary vehicle registration program. Residents of the City of Lake Mary voluntarily register their personal vehicles with the Police Department. Once registered, they receive a CAT Program decal to place in the lower left corner of the vehicles rear window.

By displaying this CAT Decal, the vehicle owner gives law enforcement officers permission to do an investigative stop of the vehicle during the hours of 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. to determine if the vehicle has been stolen.

This program in no way restricts a private citizen from legitimately using his/her own vehicle during those hours. However, statistics show that a majority of stolen vehicles are either taken or transported during those early morning hours. This is a county wide effort supported by the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, the City of Lake Mary Police Department, and numerous other law enforcement agencies in the county.

For more information on the program, or to register your vehicle contact Tony Seda at 407-585-1305 or e-mail police@lakemaryfl.com.
