Frequently Asked Questions - about your community building rental.
 

The Community Center is on Country Club Road in Lake Mary, 1/2 mile north of Lake Mary Boulevard. The building is on a city park, surrounded by trees and directly on beautiful Crystal Lake. Activities up to 150 people can be accommodated.

The Community Center is available for many functions including club meetings, weddings, meetings, etc.The purpose of the Lake Mary Community Center is to serve the social, cultural, recreational and educational activities of the citizens of Lake Mary and the surrounding areas. Upon endorsement of the agreement, the renter agrees to abide by the rules and regulations as set forth by the City and any county, state and federal requirements governing such activities.

The Community Center hosts Avon, Girl Scouts, Camera Club, Community Improvement Association, wedding receptions, parties, meetings, seminars, homeowners associations, etc.

 
RULES AND REGULATIONS

Rental of the Community Center is on an hourly basis. Any time the renter needs access to the building they will be charged at the appropriate rate. Setup, decoration, deliveries, cleaning, etc. must be included in the rental time.

Rent Facility:

Room #1 $25.00/$30.00 per hour
Room #2 $25.00/$30.00 per hour
Kitchen $25.00/$30.00 per rental
 
A damage deposit of $200.00 is required for all rentals. This covers damage, excessive cleaning necessary after the rental or to cover early or late use of the building.
 
RESERVATIONS:
50% of the total rental fees must be paid to reserve a date. Any cancellations 30 days prior to the event will result in a full refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations with less than 30 days notice. All fees and deposits must be paid at least ten (10) days prior to the rental date. PERMITS:
Should the activity require a permit, renter will obtain the permit at their expense and present required permit to the City at least seven (7) days prior to the event.
 
SET-UP:
Tables & chairs will be set up and taken down by City staff. All other preparations are the responsibility of the renter. A staff person will be present or on call during the event. The building will be locked during any time not specified on the rental agreement.
 
KITCHEN:
The kitchen has two (2) ovens, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer. The renter must provide any utensils. Kitchen use must be specified on the rental agreement. An adult must supervise all cooking.
 
CHILDREN:
Children must be supervised at all times. The person responsible for the activities, as named on the rental agreement, must be present during the entire event.
 
CLEANUP:

The renter is responsible for leaving the building in the same good condition as before the event. This includes, but is not limited to, clearing tables, taking down decorations, disposing of food and drinks and removing any items brought into the building. Please do not fold or take down tables. The renter will remove trash to the outside dumpster, vacuum, sweep floors, etc. A final inspection by City staff will determine if cleanup was acceptable and to return damage deposit. Trash bags and some cleaning materials are furnished.

The throwing or use of rice, birdseed and glitter are prohibited inside the Community Center. Smoking is not allowed inside the building. Tables and chairs cannot leave the building. Only City staff may open or close the divider wall.
