E-VERIFY
 

The City of Lake Mary hires only U.S. citizens and lawfully authorized alien workers. All selected applicants are required to complete Section 1 of federal Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) and to provide identification and either proof of U.S. citizenship or proof of authorization to work in the U.S.

In addition, the City of Lake Mary uses E-Verify as part of the I-9 process to verify the work eligibility of all new hires. E-Verify is an Internet-based system that compares information from an employee's Form I-9 to data from U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration records.

VETERANS' PREFERENCE
 

Applicants wishing to assert Veterans’ Preference in employment must complete the form below and return it with the complete employment application, along with a copy of the DD214 form or equivalent certification from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Please mail to the address provided above.

Veterans' Preference Form

Preference in employment, re-employment, promotion, and retention shall be given to an eligible veteran pursuant to ss.295.07, 295.08, 295.085 and 295.09 as long as the veteran meets the minimum eligibility requirements and has the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the posted position.
